TSMC, the leading global contract integrated chip manufacturer remains as Apple’s trusted industrial partner and supplier for its microelectronic products. Recently in 2019, Taiwan Semiconductor engineers have produced Apple’s latest A13 bionic chip processor as the company reveals its newest model iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The chip is a combination of CPU/GPU processor, making the new model run faster. It is made of second-generation 7-nanometer manufacturing process which makes it more efficient to use with its low-power mode and adds EUV capability as well.
The A13 bionic chip that powers Apple’s new iPhone 11 has a total of 8.5 billion transistors, which improves the graphics performance and process machine learning accelerators of the device, making it six times faster than the previous A12 chip-run iPhone. It also enables high performance cores working 20% faster and consuming 30% less power, increasing the phone’s battery life by 5 more hours.
