In 1989 Unilever procured Calvin Klein Cosmetics, a brand specializing in beauty care.

In 1993 the company acquired Breyer, making Unilever the leading ice cream manufacturer in America during that time.

During the 2000s the company acquired Ben & Jerry’s and Slim Fast. It proceeded to buy Best Foods which expanded and diversified its Food and Beverages portfolio, as it was able to acquire other brands such as Knorr, Hellmann’s and Bovril.

In 2010 Unilever acquired other companies related to personal care and household products, which included TRESemmé, Alberto-Culver and Mrs. Dash.
