Shit for brains associates, store managers who are inaccessible to customers, corporate customer care teams that cannot contact the store and no better than the abysmal service locally leaves no doubt about why your competition is doing better than you are. Home Depot sucks.

Regarding Gas Dryer that was purchased on 2/19/22, and paid in full. Order#: H8550-212574 at Store#: 8550. Per your company’s policy/procedures our gas dryer was delivered/installed on 2/26/2022. The washer was hooked up later due to plumbing needed.
The delivery person was Javier/his partner installed the dryer and gave us a written paper stating that within 7-10 days HD (Home Depot) would send out a contractor to do an inspection. They were coming to make sure that the dryer was connected properly per code.
I picked and inspection date and signed the form. We asked Javier did he test to make sure that all the connections between the gas line to the dryer and, the gas line to the cutoff valve were ok? He assured me that everything passed the test and that we could safely use the dryer while awaiting for HD’s contractor to come and do the final inspection.
We made several phone calls to have someone come after we began smelling gas two days after installation. We contacted the Gas Company, and was informed that we had to make sure that the gas we were smelling is not coming from the outside instead of the inside. I was instructed how to do that, and the company said it’s inside and we would have to have a contractor come out and shut off the gas valve.
That’s what we tried to do but HD was not responding to our request. As they stated they would.
On 4/29/22 we were scheduled to have our semi-annual check-up on our furnace. We asked the technician would he mind checking the gas connection to our dryer. He as kind and found that the connection between the gas line, and the connector at the bottom of the dryer was leaking. There were no pipe dope/connector threads installed. Just metal to metal. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!! DANGEROUS and could have been TRAGIC! If HD had honored their commitment to send a contractor to inspect things would have been fine. It’s very difficult not to feel that the customer service aspect of this purchase stopped when payment was received as opposed to all service being rendered to completion of delivery, installation, and safety inspection per code.
