FedEx History

Fred Smith was studying at Yale University. He came up with the idea for a worldwide logistics business with other prominent students like future President Bush and Democratic candidate John Kerry.

  3. FEDEX drivers have a problem with not recognizing blocked entrances when others are clearly obvious. The result has been numerous damaged packages (and contents) due to the package being left out in inclement weather. These stupid drivers should be FIRED!

  9. Your customer service stinks. When and if you get to talk to someone, you get a foreign speaking person, who just pulls random answers to get you off the phone. For two days, my tracking states that my package is on a truck out for delivery, and I stayed home for two days to watch the Fed Ex truck drive past my house. The second day, the customer service person says she will set up a system that will text me when the driver is near. The link in the text tells me that the system is unavailable, please try later! YOU PEOPLE SUCK!

  10. The FedEx warehouse/terminal in Southaven, MS, has to be one of the most inefficiently run facilities in the FedEx system. At least 2-3 times per month packages that I am waiting for seem to get hung up in transportation limbo waiting for the trip from Southaven to Gulfport and from there to my home a few miles away. The latest is a package from Hamilton, MO, which went to Olathe, KS, then to Southaven, then stopped; it has been sitting there for 5 days. Tracking comments said it would be delivered on 1/9, then 1/10, now it is pending with no delivery date given. Surely there must be more than one truck that goes between these two points in a 5-day span. I tried using the online helper and was told the tracking number isn’t in the system even though I have a tracking number. Using the Online Help is worthless and using Customer Service ( when you can get connected to them) is a waste of time since the foreign sounding person’s English is virtually unintelligible and they give only canned answers that are not helpful at all. Unfortunately, the company I deal with uses only FedEx for their shipping which means that if I want to purchase their products, I have to endure your poor service. It seems that this problem is with management at Southaven since packages I get that come through Mobile, AL, arrive within 2-3 days, not nearly 2 weeks using the same shipping level. FedEx advertises great promises but, literally, does not deliver. Given options, I would use the USPS or UPS over FedEx; they are much more reliable.

  11. For 30 years I have been using FedX to ship packages to labs. Now in 2023 Customer Service is a Robot who can’t understand your tracking number, first name, last name, and/or phone number and transfer you to a Customer Service Representative who speaks rappedly with an accent so thick you can’t understand what they are saying. Many times they are so rude, interrupting you when you are trying to explain the problem. I am afraid I have to agree with the reply from Kimber Livesay. “The service stinks and Sucks” It is frustrating and, it is the worst experience I have ever had in my business dealings with FedX. Oh, by the way the program will not let you copy the reply comment. now doesn’t that seem odd?

Are you going to edit it so you don’t look so bad with your customer services.
